Major, Law Enforcement Operations
Major Danny Linhart graduated from Citrus High School in 1987. He then furthered his education with an Associate of Science degree from Central Florida College as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia Southern University in Criminal Justice Administration.Starting his career with the Citrus County Sheriff Office in 1993, Danny was hired as a correctional officer. Since 1993, Danny has mastered many positions within the Sheriff’s Office such as Deputy Sheriff, Property Crimes Detective, Crimes against Children Detective, and Major Crimes Detective. In 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he spent six years supervising vital agency divisions including Property Crimes, the Special Victims Unit, and Major Crimes. In 2009, he advanced to Lieutenant within the Criminal Investigation Division. Danny became a Captain in 2012 administering command to the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations. In 2017, Danny was honored to accept the rank of Major where he now leads the entire Law Enforcement Bureau. Danny is married to his lovely wife Cybil and they have five beautiful children. Each of them enjoy playing sports and participating in any outdoor activities.
