The Citrus County Sheriff's Office operates under a bureau command structure.
Law Enforcement Commander Wayne Burns and Administrative Commander Robert Blume report directly to Sheriff Jeff Dawsy.  Both men ensure the agency is run effectively and smoothly each day.

Commander Burns is responsible for the Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and EOC 911 Center divisions and oversees management within those divisions for compliance with policies and procedures.
Commander Blume is responsible for the divisions of Finance, Human Resources, Professional Standards, Judicial Services, and Staff Services, as well as personnel in Special Projects.

General Counsel

Richard Wesch
The Sheriff's Office strategic plan in 2004 outlined the need for an attorney on staff, and in April 2006, hired Richard Wesch as our general counsel.  His responsibilities include advising the Sheriff on all legal matters, ensuring forfeiture proceedings are handled correctly and monitoring all contracts the agency enters into for legal compliance.  Employee compensation claims, civil suits, liability issues and public records requests are reviewed by the general counsel.
