Captain Clendenney started her law enforcement career in 2000 as a Deputy Sheriff in the Duty Office. Through hard work and dedication, she became a Sergeant overseeing Courthouse Security in 2007, and later, in 2015, served as the Captain for the Judicial Services Division. She was responsible for providing a variety of services statutorily mandated, to include the CCSO's School Resource Deputy program.

In October of 2020, she moved under the Bureau of Support Operations to assume the position of Captain of Special Operations. This division is comprised of various units, teams, and departments that collectively provide operational support during critical situations.  Such teams as the Special Weapons and Tactics, Bomb Team, Underwater Recovery Team, and Crisis Negotiations fall under her supervision.

In April of 2023, she assume the position of Captain of the Professional Standards Division. The professional Standards Division has multi-faceted responsibilities, including oversight and managing Fleet, Evidence, Accreditation, Community Relations, and Volunteers.

Captain Clendenney currently holds a B.A. in Criminology from St. Leo University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.

Captain Clendenney is very involved in the community as an active Rotarian and can always be found volunteering her time for the various charities her Crystal River Rotary helps support.
