FOUR PROMOTED IN CCSO’S PREPARATIONS FOR THE FUTURE
It is with great pleasure that Sheriff Prendergast officially announces the promotion of four well-accomplished and decorated professionals within the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.
While some of these vital realignments have already taken place, today’s ceremony is a formal announcement of each member’s well-deserved placement within the agency. These promotions were made to further strengthen and structure the CCSO for future endeavors. In preparing for the future, the following promotions took place:
Lieutenant Troy Hess to Captain over the Judicial and Juvenile Services Division
Captain Hess began working as a Court Security Deputy with CCSO in 2000 and was promoted in 2014 to Sergeant with Judicial and Juvenile Services. After leading this section for three years, he was promptly promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Education and Professional Standards Division.
Deputy Director Chris Evan to Director of Emergency Operations
Director Evan brings 30 years of dedicated public service to his newly appointed position. Evan joined CCSO in 1997, where he rose through the ranks to Lieutenant and served in several divisions, including patrol, community affairs, and professional standards. In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Director of Emergency Operations.
Deputy Jonathan Holtzhouse to School Resource Deputy Sergeant
Sergeant Holtzhouse has dedicated 13 years to the great citizens of Citrus County, serving in various capacities including School Resource Deputy and Traffic Field Training Officer.
Detective Chris Holloway to Sergeant over the Major Crimes Unit
Sergeant Holloway remarkably held numerous positions during his 11-year-tenure, from Patrol Deputy, Special Victims Unit Detective, and Major Crimes Detective, to Major Crimes Officer In Charge.
“I would like to congratulate these four individuals on a new chapter in their professional career,” remarked Sheriff Prendergast. “With these changes, our team of professionals will continue to add to our rich legacy of excellence in public service. While we cannot predict the future, we can better position our expert assets for the benefit of our community.”
Key factors that played a role in the decision to promote the above professionals include experience, expertise, and their abilities to consistently exceed the expectations and requirements of their roles.
