16-YEAR SHERIFF’S OFFICE PUBLIC SERVICE OFFICER RETIRES
(Citrus County, FL) Public Service Officer (PSO) Walter Nolan has been a staple of the Inverness landscape for 16 years. Nolan, one of two paid PSOs, started with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office in April of 2004 when the City of Inverness contracted all law enforcement through CCSO. Throughout his career, Nolan garnered commendations for his dedicated service to the citizens of Citrus County.
"It is employees like PSO Walter Nolan who is the heart and soul of the Citrus County Sheriff's Office," said Sheriff Prendergast. "Their service above self exemplifies their dedication to our community. We thank PSO Nolan for his efforts in keeping the City of Inverness safe."
The Public Service Officer position within the Citrus County Sheriff's Office assists with the Patrol Division's day-to-day operations. Many of our PSOs work hand in hand with Deputy Sheriffs on a variety of calls. Some of the PSO duties are to conduct selective traffic enforcement and investigate minor traffic crashes. Other responsibilities include conducting VIN verification of vehicles, wellbeing checks, and documenting non-felony reports.
Please join us in thanking Public Service Officer Nolan for his steadfast devotion to our mission and selfless service to our community for nearly two decades. Have a safe and healthy retirement, PSO Nolan!
