Ryan T. Glaze


West District Commander

Ryan was born and raised in Citrus County and graduated from Citrus High School in 1995. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army where he served for 5 years. He performed Airborne and Air Assault Operations as a Military Police Sergeant and received an Honorable Discharge. He obtained his AA and BS degrees in Criminal Justice Administration from Mountain State University. He is pursuing his Master’s degree through St. Leo University.

Ryan has been employed by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office since July of 2000 and has worked with many different units and specialty teams within the agency. His assignments have been Road Patrol Deputy, K9 Deputy, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Member and Honor Guard Member. He worked his way through the ranks of Deputy, Corporal, Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant where he served as a K9 Supervisor, Road Patrol Sergeant, West District Operations Sergeant and Watch Commander.He was awarded the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Medal of Valor in 2010.In June of 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, to serve as the West District Commander. Ryan is also a Graduate of the Command Officer Management Course and Leadership Citrus.

Ryan has been involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Key Training Center. He and his family are active in their church, like to fish and enjoy participating in athletic events.
